Madonna from my vantage

Here are some pictures I took the first night I went to Madonna on the Sticky & Sweet Tour. I went with my sister Carla, my Mom and Bonita. When I’m at a concert I don’t generally take pictures because I’d rather just be in the moment and watch the show. So here area few pics I took just so people could see about where i was sitting.

On the second night of the show I had a better seat and there were four girls sitting in front of me. One of them was watching the show through her camera, literally, the entire show. She was so worried about having the show on her camera she basically missed it.

Folsom Street Fair 2008

The year is coming to an end and there are plenty more holiday events I’m going to have to take a bunch of pictures at, so I am clearing out my camera and I realized that I never posted anything about Folsom.  It was a usual Folsom for me.  I got there. I drank too much.  I passed out early.

But this year I really did try to hang in there, ya know?  I went to brunch with friends and we took our time getting to the fair.  I was like, ‘Great, its 2pm and I”m not wasted yet.’  But as I was waiting for my friends to get there, I went and got a drink.  This time i did not drink Steel Reserve but i went to one of the bars.  I was pondering on what I should drink and I looked over to a very lovely ghetto straight couple and I asked what they were drinking and decided to follow their lead.

Um, that was a mistake, because they were taking shots of patron with a long island ice tea chaser.  I downed the first round of that.  Then I met this guy giving out shots of tequila on the sidewalk and I  hit his pipe.  After that i was feeling good.  Finally Serena and Julie got there and we walked around, saw friends, took pictures and had fun.  So I went back for another round of my fabulous drinks.  Midway through that long island, I started feeling too drunk. I don’t even remember taking half the pictures below.

I was passed out in bed my 8 pm.  I woke up at one in the morning feeling pretty ill and not really know where or when I was.

Anyway, check out the pics and enjoy.

Palm Springs No on Prop 8 Protest turns UGLY

Ok, for everyone that is going to go out and protest tomorrow, lets not fight hate with hate. Below is a video of the protest in Palm Springs earlier this week where things got a bit ugly.  I can’t stand that Proposition 8 passes, but I’m sorry, these guys need to hold back a little.  The footage in this newscast  doesn’t make us look too good an will probably give the opposition some ammunition to use against us.

Dan Savage vs. Tony Perkins

One of my modern heroes, Dan Savage, writer of Savage Love and the book, the Commitment, appeared  on 360 with Anderson Cooper to debate with Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, about the influence of the Mormon Church to pass Prop 8 here in California.

This is a great discussion.

Don’t forget to protest Prop 8 this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in San Francisco!

MADONNA  was amazing!  IT was soo much fun to be there with my family.  the night before on halloween, somewhere, somehow i got a stomach bug.  so i was up all night being sick, but that didn’t stop me from having a good time at the show. our seats were really good, right next to the stage on the right side.  we got to see her go down on the lift …   My mom had a great time, which is what really what i wanted.  The show was amazing!  my favorites were vogue, she’s not me, into the groove, you must love me, la isla bonita!  and like a prayer.   I loved the my favorite section was the Old school section and surprisingly the gypsy section.  it was just so colorful and full of energy.  Miles Away was amazing to clap to…  I hated the last section.  I loved like a prayer and give it to me.  but the rest sucked.  4minutes didn’t look or sound good.  even though he wasn’t there, madonna was still overshadowed by JT. plus she was humping the TV screens….lame.  RAy of light was the exact same as Confessions and Hung Up was a torturous version.  You just couldn’t get into it.  But give it to me ended the show strong..   YOu could tell she was not in the most well-rested mood that night.  She seemed a little pissed off.

The second night i went by my self.  i was basically in the same seat except on the other side of the stage, plus i was three rows down and a few seats closer to the stage…so it was a better view.  Madonna was definitely in a great mood that night.  She must have been tired the night before from traveling but i guess she got her sleep, cuz she was amazing and the crowd was definitely better.  It was great to see her a second time because i noticed so much more this time around than i did the night before.  the Sticky & Sweet tour is just amazing because its soo much fun.  ITs like a big party.  She shakes it and dances around almost the entire time.  This second show you could just tell she was loving us.  At one point she was laying down close to my section and everyone was cheering and she looks at the first few rows and says “that is the sound of love.” and we definitely loved her that night.
Madonna has always been political and so when she performed on election night, you know she was going to celebrate with the crowd!

She even wore her Obama Madonna shirt, sold at the concerts!
AND last night she had Britney and Justin on stage with her!
